Об этой машине

The 2005 Fiesta ST is the second car officialy developped by "TEAM RS" and the third car featuring "Sport Technology" brand as known as "ST". Nicknammed "ST150" for ST label and has around 150 hp.

In 2002, Ford unveiled the "RallyeConcept" at Birmingham autoshow. Based on three-door version of the new Fiesta, this one was Ford's vision of a future rally version of the Fiesta, capable of competing in the Super 1600 championship at national and international level. Powered by a high-performance version of Ford's 1.6-liter Duratec 16-valve block, the Ford RallyeConcept developed over 200 hp and was equipped with a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox and racing suspensions.

In 2003, the "TEAM RS" replaced the "SVE" team in Europe, with the regrouping of high performance vehicles and motorsport activities. The first "ST" was developped in 1996 with the Mondeo ST200. The second ST was the Focus ST170 in 2002 with a collaboration between European Ford Performance Team and North american "SVT" team.

In 2004, Ford unveiled at Genève the new "Fiesta RS Concept" alongside of the new Fiesta ST and S. The "RS Concept" was a high-performance car with modified body inspired of WRC. The "RS Concept" boasted 180 hp to the front wheels and a 0 to 100 km/h time of around 7 seconds. However, Ford hasn't produced a Fiesta RS since the Fiesta RS1800 in 1992, and didn't produce this one after all.

Ford, however, produced a powerful version of the Fiesta not with the "RS" label but with the "ST" label with the same team (TEAM RS) that developed the Focus RS. Various catchphrases was used for selling the Fiesta ST like "Feel the power", "A sporting heritage" or "Shame there's only one driving seat". The objective with this car is to have fun on the road or race on a track with the same car.

The ST150 use a 2.0 DURATEC HE engine co-developed with Mazda. It's a 147 hp inline 4 engine with DOHC and specific inlet which allows torque at low revs and high revs. It is the same engine we can found in the Mondeo Duratec HE or the Focus Duratec HE.

Big thanks to Stephane Mougeot, AKF FPV, CyrilleST, Track_attack_fiesta and Gaya Performance.
